Topic: Isaiah Tells The Future
Scripture
Isaiah 9:6 NIV
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulder. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace"
Isaiah 7:14 NIV
"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel"
Key Words
Prophet: A person that tells the people what God is saying
Immanuel: God with Us
Messiah: Savior
Gentiles: Includes all people that are not Jews
Key Points
- Isaiah is a prophet that told about Jesus' birth and his life (how he would suffer and die for all of us)
- All of the things Isaiah said about the Messiah are written in the book of Isaiah and the came true hundreds of years after he wrote them
- Isaiah is the FIRST prophet book
- God told Isaiah that Jesus would be a "light to the Gentiles". Therefore God came to save ALL people whether they were black, white, purple or blue
- God came to save YOU
Activity
*Tell everyone you can that Jesus died for us many years after Isaiah prophesied about it.
