- There was a place named Antioch
-In Antioch, the people learned about Jesus: how he lived, died and rose again
-In Antioch the people did not care if a person was Jewish or a Gentile (many Jews believed that Jesus had only died for them)
-People started calling the believers Christians first in Antioch
- The Christians wanted to know more about Jesus so they needed a teacher.
- The people of Jerusalem sent Barnabas to help teach the Christians in Antioch
- When Barnabas arrived in Antioch he realized why these people were called Christians, but he was only one person and could not teach them all
- Barnabas sent for Paul for him to come help him
- Barnabas and Paul worked together telling people the good news about Jesus for a whole year.
