Jesus Overcomes Temptation {1/13/13}



Scripture: 
Psalm 119:11
Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee
Key Words

Tempt: to try to get a person to do wrong
Sin: to break God's law
Fast: to go without food
Attention Getter
Let the students find the twelve disciples
Objective: The students finding the twelve disciples would review last Sunday's lesson, while also reviewing the names of the disciples
Lesson
- After Jesus was baptized, he went into the wilderness where he fasted and prayed for 40 days
-Temptation #1
Turn the rock into bread
      Weapon: Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God
- Temptation #2
Go to the highest point of the mountain and throw yourself down and allow the angels to rescue you
        Weapon: Thou shall not tempt The Lord thy God
-Temptation #3
Told Jesus to now down to him and he would give him power
       Weapon: Thou shalt worship The Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve
